Expert NBA Best Bets and Player Props Today – Sunday, November 19th
The 2023-24 NBA season has begun and we’re excited over here at VSiN. As always, Jonathan Von Tobel will be providing you with his exceptional coverage of the greatest league in the world. I’ll be doing this every single day of the week — although it’ll be a little shorter on the weekends. So, keep reading to find out how I’m playing the NBA slate on Sunday, November 19. NBA Best Bets Today – November 19
Philadelphia 76ers at Brooklyn Nets – 3:00 pm ET
I thought the Sixers might get tripped up against the Atlanta Hawks the other day, as they haven’t played many road games this season. But they passed that test with flying colors, and they’re now fourth in the league in adjusted offensive rating and eighth in the league in adjusted defensive rating. This is a team that is borderline elite, so I think taking them is a must at this number. The Nets are just 13th in the league in adjusted offensive rating and 19th in adjusted defensive rating. Brooklyn also happens to be missing some key players, as Cam Thomas and Ben Simmons remain out. Also, Joel Embiid absolutely dominated the Nets in the playoffs last year, with Nic Claxton being way too weak to defend him in the paint. I don’t see what has changed and this Philadelphia team might be better than last year’s.
Bet: Sixers -3.5 (-108)
Orlando Magic at Indiana Pacers – 5:00 pm ET
The Over has hit in 10 of the 11 games the Pacers have played this season. This team is playing at the second-fastest pace in basketball and is one of the best teams in the league in terms of offensive efficiency. They have been able to speed up all of their opponents, and I don’t think this game will be any different. I know the Magic are a defensive-minded team, but Indiana has played just one game that wasn’t played on its terms. So, I’m playing the Over again here, and the fact this is a home game doesn’t hurt. The Over is also 2-1 when Orlando has played teams that allow at least 120.0 points per game, so the team does play high-scoring games in the right situations.
Bet: Over 234.5 (-110)
Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers – 9:30 pm ET
The Rockets come into this game after having won six of their last seven games, but they have covered in seven in a row. And I like their chances of making that eight — and potentially even winning outright. The reality is that Houston really should have won that game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, and this team is just scorching hot at the moment. The Rockets are superb on the defensive end of the floor, which is going to be troubling for a mediocre Lakers offense. And I like the ways the Rockets can attack the Lakers on offense, as Alperen Sengun should get his in this game.
Bet: Rockets +5.5 (-110)
NBA Player Props Today – November 19
Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz – 8:00 pm ET
Keyonte George had 15 points and six assists against the Suns last game, and that was one in which Kevin Durant said that neither team was playing defense. Considering this game has another very high total, I don’t see things changing too much. This should be an up-and-down affair, giving George plenty of chances to make plays. And he has gone Over tonight’s points and assists total in three consecutive games. So, I’m backing the rookie to do it again. The game is slowing down for him and he’s really looking like a future stud for Utah.
